Role: Real-world UX consultation, 3D modeling & look-dev, animation, delivery
Partners: Kuna Films · Quantex
Brief
Turn a promising concept into a clear film that explains the user journey (cartridge types, insertion, confirmation, remaining-cycles logic) and communicates the vision to investors.
What I did
UX shaping (physical + service flow): mapped insertion ergonomics, alignment affordances, and feedback states (LEDs/UI overlays).
Variant fidelity: incorporated Quantex’s mockups for multiple cartridge designs (different formulas/garment categories), matching labels, colorways, and form cues while keeping a unified system read.
3D production: modeled the machine bay, cartridges, and mechanisms; authored materials; built hero shots in Cinema 4D with Octane look-dev.
Narrative: co-wrote a concise script with Kuna Films focused on benefits (clean dosing, convenience, hygiene, sustainability).
Delivery to editorial: supplied edit-ready renders and passes (clean plates, alpha mattes, labeled AOVs, organized shot folders) so Kuna Films could handle the final edits and splice variations as needed.
Key responsibilities
Real-world UX guidance for a hardware concept (human factors, affordances, feedback).
Variant management: consistent geometry hierarchies and materials across multiple cartridge SKUs.
Texturing, lighting, and camera design for clear mechanism communication.
Pass management and edit-friendly packaging.
Technical highlights
Cinema 4D: parametric modeling and consistent naming across variants.
Octane: polymer/metal shaders, studio/HDR lighting, multi-pass renders.
UI overlays: Status icons, LED states; label textures aligned to client artwork.
Multi-format masters with tidy AOVs for grade/compositing; edit-ready assets for rapid re-cutting.
Outcome
A persuasive, investor-ready visualization that not only looks premium but also demonstrates a plausible user experience, showing how different cartridges are identified, inserted, confirmed, and tracked, delivered as a neatly packaged asset library for Kuna Films to finish and version.
