A series of short technical CGI films created for Opsydia to help customers, partners and investors quickly understand complex photonics challenges, from fan-out and shoreline density to depth writing and adaptive optics.

Selected films from the series
01 - Optical Connectivity
Shows how Opsydia’s connector block enables precise optical coupling.
02 - Shoreline Density / Fan-Out
Shows how tightly spaced PIC emitters can be fanned out into a wider fibre array.
03 - Depth-Based Density
Shows how writing at depth enables high-density multilayer optical connections.
04 - Edge Writing / Adaptive Optics
Shows how adaptive optics compensates for the increased challenge of writing accurately at the edge and at depth.
WHY THIS SERIES
A set of short CGI films built to make advanced photonics easier to grasp across sales, investor conversations, websites and live demos, without flattening the technical value.
Role: Lead Motion Designer / Creative Direction, Script Compression, CGI & Post
Client: Opsydia (direct)
Brief
Create a series of short technical CGI films that explain complex photonics concepts clearly, quickly, and in a way that feels commercially compelling to customers, partners and investors.
What I did
Script shaping: invited the client to “put everything in,” then compressed a multi-page document into a tight ~40s narrative with crisp beats and benefits.
Animatics: VO-led animatics (scratch VO + temp music) to lock structure, timing, and on-screen logic.
Look-dev & production: lighting, texturing, and Octane rendering in Cinema 4D; designed visuals to demystify the tech while feeling premium.
Post & finish: editorial and audio mix for the final films.
Approach
Translate dense technical ideas into visuals that make sense fast
Use pacing, shot design and hierarchy to support clarity
Keep the science intact while improving accessibility for non-technical audiences
Build assets that work across sales, investor and presentation contexts
Technical highlights
Cinema 4D animation and scene assembly
Octane look-dev, lighting and rendering
Procedural materials designed for clarity and readability
VO-timed motion design, edit and audio mix
Delivery-ready outputs for web, decks and social
Outcome
A short CGI explainer series that helped make Opsydia’s technology clearer, faster to grasp and easier to present across sales conversations, investor discussions, websites and live demos.
