Role: Creative Direction, Character/Scene Design, Animation & Post
Client: Open Health

Brief
Bring three scripts to life with a sensitive, hopeful tone, avoiding generic “library” characters and craft a visually consistent series that respectfully portrays psoriasis experiences.

What I did

  • Original character design: created a bespoke cast from the ground up to avoid template looks and feel truly brand-unique.

  • World/scene design: established environments, props, and transitions for three distinct yet cohesive films.

  • Animation production: built the series primarily in After Effects (≈95%), with select 3D moments for depth/emphasis.

  • Look & tone: applied the provided colour/tone guidance to maintain warmth, clarity, and dignity across narratives.

  • Editorial & delivery: assembled final cuts and delivered platform-ready masters.

Key responsibilities

  • Visual development & style frames; character turnarounds and rigging.

  • Narrative pacing, transitions, and motion grammar aligned to each script.

  • Consistency across three films: palette, line weight, timing, and layout system.

Technical highlights

  • After Effects: character rigging (controllers), 2D/2.5D animation, compositing.

  • Light 3D inserts for parallax, product/context cues (C4D → AE pipeline).

Outcome
A compassionate, clearly told three-part series that feels handcrafted, raising awareness without resorting to stock visuals, and giving Open Health a distinctive, on-brief set of assets for campaigns and education.
