Role: Motion Designer / Show Package & Opener
Partners: Hamblin Imagery (long-running collaboration)
Brief
Create an eye-catching opener that quiets the room and sets the tone for the night, plus a suite of animations that play nicely with the event logo and assets.
What I did
Developed concepts that trace marketing across decades, from the ’60s to today, culminating in the current event design.
Built animated logo treatments and supporting variations for use throughout the show.
Ensured every version integrated cleanly with event branding, stage screens, and timings.
Final assembly, grading, and polish in After Effects.
Key responsibilities
Concept development & visual language across eras.
Opener design: pacing, reveals, and impact moments to “silence the audience.”
Logo/system animation that remains flexible across multiple screen formats.
Close collaboration with Hamblin and the client through iterative reviews.
Technical highlights
Cinema 4D with Octane and After Effects for compositing and final grade.
Typography, transitions, and motif work to bridge decade styles.
Delivery of multiple aspect/length variations for live playback.
Outcome
A punchy opener and cohesive show package that amped the room, read crisply on large displays, and stayed fully on-brand, setting the tone for a seamless awards evening.
